The Freshmen Class in collaboration with the Homeless Shelter Club had a successful Bake Sale! We sold a total of about $146 with expenses! The ice pops and baked goods were a huge success! It wouldn't have been possible without everyone bringing in goods and working together to work the table. Thank you everyone for you awesome work!
Another piece of good news! We finally received the money from Rundlett that the class of 2014 raised in Middle School. We received about $3,000!!! This is very exciting and will help us with fundraising in the future!
We still have things to do before the school year ends! We have our Fisher Cats Fundraiser on June 8th. We have some work that we need to do with that. Keep your eyes on the blog for more details about our fundraising for this.
Our next meeting is May 24th at 2:45 PM. I hope all of you are able to make it!
And one Final Thing! We are not doing the Car Wash on June 26th. Instead we are having it on August 27th. I know this is way in advance, but Mark Your Calenders!!! It will be a great way to kick start our year as Sophomores. :)
I was ecstatic to see that everyone had signed up for Student Senate next year! We have had a great 2010/2011 year and I know that we will use everything we have learned this year for our next academic year.
See you all at the next meeting!!!

Fisher Cats Game
Hey Guys!
So if we are into doing the Fisher Cats game we would need to do the following:
-Get a gaggle of us down to the game the night of the game to sell raffle tickets for the 50/50 raffle. We would earn 25 cents for every 50 cent ticket sold... Which would add up to quite a bit. :)
*We would car pool to get down. Really everyone would need to come for us to get this to work.
-Spread the word about the promotional code that people would use when they purchased tickets. This would mean us going on announcements, creating posters around school, and then community advertisement. We would get $4.00 for every ticket that was purchased using the promotional code.
We could potentially make a lot from this if we work hard to spread the word, all show up, and participate.
First of all, before we move forward on this I need to know if you would be willing to participate and if you are able to do this. If you have any apprehensions let me know, but we can only profit from this. Secondly if you are into it, I need you to look at the schedule for the coming games in May and June... If there are specific dates that don't work for you please let me know.
Here is the link to look:
http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t463&m=05&y=2011
Some dates we were looking at are May 27th, 28th, or 29th or June 10th, 11th, or 12th... We would only do one but we have to give some the people at the fisher cats options.
Please let me know ASAP about this! We really have to move on this to get the date we want. Thanks for everything!

Spring 2011 Ideas
Hey Guys!
Let's start brainstorming about some ideas that we could work on this spring. Spring tends to get hectic making in school fundraisers more difficult and people are starting to get a little tired of bake sales. We should defiantly do some sort of bake sale but make it original. I will finalize a bake sale date on Monday. I don't want us to limit ourselves to bake sales either. There are some great things that we could do that would also be a lot of fun.
-One of us could check out doing a car wash at Arnie’s. I think this would be fun for all of us and a great way to profit.
-My dad has a connection where we could sell programs at a Fishercat's Game in Manchester once their season starts. We would walk around the stands and sell them for $2.00. We would make $1 for every program sold! I think we should definitely do this if everyone is willing to help out!
We really want to focus on things that have no overhead cost. That way we could only profit from them!
-We could do a community yard sale and reserve the parking lot at CHS. People could rent a space for a fee. This would be community building activity and a good way to profit. Parents are always into these kinds of things.
-We could also sponsor a “CHS has Talent” event. Mrs. Lamb mentioned that no one was going to do this this year and it has always been done in the past. It would be free to rent the auditorium. It would be different from other things done because it is not only for singing.
So let's start talking about more Ideas!
We can go more in depth about some of them when we have a quick meeting after this coming tuesday's full-senate meeting.
Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!

This Blog has been created to enable more effective communication among the members of the Freshmen Class Senate. With spring sports starting and the end of the school year approaching quickly life tends to get crazy. This Blog will allow members who are unable to attend meetings to catch up on what we talked about at the meetings and will also allow us to update each other. I hope that this helps us make progress even in the midst of the busiest time of the year!
